4 Favorite Sites I Use to Make $15k a month as a Social Media Manager

My four favorite sites as a Social Media Manager:

  • Airtable

  • Canva

  • Trello

  • Upwork

I’ve been in this business for a while now. Women want assurances that the person giving them advice knows what they’re talking about. I’ve got some traction under my belt and don’t want you to think I’m just pushing some fluff:

  • 500+ social media videos curated

  • 100+ satisfied freelancing clients

  • 50+ social media accounts managed

Throughout my time building this business, I’ve learned what to do and what not to do.

And I’ve learned what tools work the best to help you earn the income you want.

So here are my four favorite websites that I use to help me consistently make a substantial amount of income each month.

Airtable for content strategy

Airtable lets me see on a high-level the individual items I need for each of my SMM clients. For example, if I have a client who is very hands-on and would like to see each detail of the process, Airtable makes it easy for me to add a limitless number of columns for things like:

  1. Link to sound

  2. Approved by Leslie

  3. Approved by Jane Smith

so I can work hand-in-hand virtually with my clients and provide them with outstanding service.

I use Airtable to help me with

  • Content planning

  • Tracking topics to cover within the content

  • Managing social media channels

  • Keep me aware of my deadlines

  • Measuring my success

It also helps me by providing multiple different views, like a dashboard or calendar view. The dashboard view helps me see my ongoing projects and where they stand. The calendar view gives me even more real-time info. For example, say I have a client who wants Valentine’s Day posts, but a quick glance at my calendar shows nothing on their spot, I’ll be like, “Oh shit, I need to get something made today.”

Airtable lets me create custom fields, like drop-down menus, checkboxes, and specific formulas, so I can categorize my content. I can choose to categorize by areas like SM channels, format (blog, video, etc.,) and the client’s target audience.

Airtable is SO user-friendly, and its interface is crazy versatile. With all its features, I’m able to streamline content strategies for my SMM clients and increase my own productivity.

Canva for static designs

Static designs, those designs that don’t change or move, are trending and popular. Using a combination of text, images, and graphics, I can create logos, banners, icons, and so much more for my clients.

I’ve used static designs to make brochures, website logos, and more.

It’s so easy to use Canva for this.

Just choose a template or create a custom design of your own. Then you add in the elements you want, like text, shapes, icons, etc. Customize it for different colors or font styles, and it’s ready to go!

Use it to make Instagram story templates and reel highlight cover photos.

Basically, I use Canva for EVERYTHING that is static-based for all my social media management clients.

Here are a couple examples of what I’ve done with Canva to make static designs for clients:

Trello for content proposals

Trello is the savior for all to-do list-makers. It uses boards, cards, and lists so you can see at just a quick glance what needs to be done and who’s doing it. Cards are my favorite part of the software. Moving a board to the next stage in the pipeline is very rewarding.

Trello boards example

I use Trello to help me organize my content marketing proposals for my social media management clients.

I will create a specialized board for each client so they can see at a high level where we’re at in their social media management funnel. They can quickly and easily see captions for each proposal and the images that we’ll be using in upcoming campaigns.

My clients and I use Trello to collaborate easily, like they can upload a link to their branding guide, raw footage they want me to use, a Google Drive link, or whatever. Trello is a home base for each client and me and my team. We can all see at any given time what’s going on with their social media management.

Upwork for finding new clients

I utilize Upwork to find the bulk of my UGC and social media management clients.

I have optimized and targeted my profile for these two types of services. I get invites daily asking me to manage SM business accounts or to create content for their accounts.

Upwork is one of the biggest parts of my business strategy, as I get most of my SMM clients from this platform.

Upwork freelancer profile

Upwork provides a pretty easy and user-friendly platform that makes it easy for freelancers and clients to find each other. It’s also pretty safe, even with its fair share of scammers.

Upwork boasts easy availability to find jobs and with a consistent and strategic method, you can consistently win clients and projects.

One of the best things about Upwork is the ability to find long-term working partnerships with clients.
